Exploring the XIAO ESP32-C5: Features, Specs, and Arduino IDE Setup
In my recent video, I took a closer look at the XIAO ESP32-C5, the latest addition to Seeed Studio XIAO family and the first model to support 5 GHz Wi-Fi. With dual-band Wi-Fi 6, it delivers higher throughput, reduced interference, and continued compatibility with 2.4 GHz networks, making it well suited for modern IoT applications.
Beyond Wi-Fi, the XIAO ESP32-C5 integrates Bluetooth 5 LE and IEEE 802.15.4, enabling native support for Matter, HomeKit, and MQTT. It is powered by a 240 MHz 32-bit RISC-V core, with ample on-chip memory, Flash, and PSRAM to support smooth multitasking and scalable designs. Enhanced security features and an integrated battery management interface, capable of deep-sleep currents as low as 15 ?A, make it a strong choice for secure and energy-efficient connected devices.
In the video, I covered the technical specifications of the XIAO ESP32-C5 and demonstrate how to get started using the Arduino IDE, including a simple blinking LED sketch. If you want to follow along, Seeed Studio provides a detailed Getting Started with Seeed Studio XIAO ESP32-C5 guide that walks through setup and first steps.
