Creating a Rainbow on RGB LED strip with Arduino

Recently I was inspired by a blog post about DIY lamp. I decided to do this short tutorial how to a achieve a scrolling rainbow effect on a RGB LED strip with Arduino Leonardo. I am using a breadboard, a few wires and a couple open source hardware components from Olimex:

• OLIMEXINO-32U4 open source hardware Arduino Leonardo like development board
• LED-STRIPE-8

The short video above provides step by step instructions how to assemble the components. The solution relies on the open source library FastLED. The source code of the Arduino sketch is available at GitHub under MIT license.
